How to Sign In Using Your CUNY Login

The CUNY Login is what you also use for Brightspace, CUNYfirst, Zoom, and many other Baruch and CUNY-wide services.

Username for CUNY Login

• Same username you use to log into Brightspace, CUNYfirst, etc.
• Always has @login.cuny.edu at the end (example: Bruno.Mars54@login.cuny.edu)

Password for CUNY Login

Same password that you use to log into Brightspace, CUNYfirst, etc. (which all end in “@login.cuny.edu), also known as your “CUNY Login.”

OneSearch

• Is our largest database
• Used to find most of our online content as well as our library’s print collections
• What the yellow search bar on the library home page uses

Doing a Search vs. Viewing the Content

You do not need to “sign in” to run searches in OneSearch.

To view the content of something you’ve found (e,g., an ebook, article, or video), click the green “Available online” link, which will then bring up the Baruch login page (see section above on this page, “To view ebooks, articles, videos, databases, and more”).

What Does the “Sign In” Link Let Me Do?

You will see links to “Sign in” in OneSearch in two places: the top right corner of the screen, and at the top of your search results:

This “Sign in” link is mostly for managing your library borrower’s account so you can:

• check to see what books and other items you have borrowed
• see when the items you have borrowed are due
• renew the loan period for items you have borrowed

It also lets you save search results (not the actual content but just the records in OneSearch that describe those items found).

If your instructor has worked with the library to make available selected articles, ebooks, book chapters, videos, etc. for your class, you will need a “course password” to view the list of items that that are in our “course reserves” system (also known as “e-reserves”). This is what the course password login box looks like:

The “course password” should have been provided to you by your instructor at the start of the semester.

If you do not remember what that course password is, try these steps:

1. Look in your student email messages to see if it was already sent to you by your instructor
2. Email your instructor for the course password
3. Use the Ask a Librarian services on the library home page to ask via chat or email

Once you have successfully entered the course password, you can see the list of items on reserve for your class. When you click on an item, you may next see the “Off Campus Access @ Baruch College” login page where you’re need to use your CUNY Login (for help with this, see the information above in the section titled, “To view ebooks, articles, videos, databases, and more.”)
