All students who check out a study room key will be required to sign an agreement that they have read and acknowledged the following rules:
General Rules for Study Room Use
- Violations may result in your expulsion from the room and/or loss of future borrowing privileges.
- Library staff and Public Safety officers may inspect any occupied rooms.
- The person borrowing the key will be held responsible for rule violations.
Room Rules
- Not allowed at any time:
- Any kind of food or uncovered beverages
- Obstructing windows or glass partition
- Moving chairs and tables in or out of the room
- Leaving the door open
- Smoking
- Vaping
- Sexual activity
- Gambling
- Drug or alcohol use
- Defacing property
- Disregard for reservation times
- Unauthorized use
- Report any food or drinks you find in the room when you enter it (call 646-312-1660 or email circulation@baruch.cuny.edu)
- Rooms are not soundproof. Do not disturb others outside the room.
- When leaving:
- erase the whiteboard
- securely shut the door
- Failure to vacate the study room at the end of your reservation is a serious violation that may result in your expulsion from the room by Public Safety and a loss of borrowing privileges for study rooms.
Key Rules
- Keys may not be taken outside the library
- Room keys must be returned at the end time of the reservation
- Students will be charged $1 per minute for overdue room keys
- If the circulation desk is closed, you may drop off the key in the wood “returns box.” You may get an automated email from our system indicating a late fee on the following day.
I acknowledge that I have read these rules and understand that violating these rules may result in my borrowing privileges for study rooms being suspended.
